4-Day Tour Marrakech – Ouzina Desert

Morning departure across the High Atlas via the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260 m). Visit of the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the best preserved in the country, where films such as Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia were shot. From here we head south via Ouarzazate and the Draa Valley — Morocco’s longest river and a spectacular 150 km palm grove — to Zagora. We ride dromedaries into the desert, where we spend the night in a Berber haima. Accommodation with dinner and breakfast.

After breakfast we ride the dromedaries back for a shower. During the day we drive one of the tracks of the Dakar Rally and visit the villages of Ramlia and Ouzina. Hotel accommodation with dinner and breakfast.

After breakfast we head to Erg Chebbi along the Dakar Rally track, passing Khamlia and Merzouga. We continue to the Todra Gorges near Tinghir, at the end of a valley of palm trees and mud-brick villages surrounded by steep, barren mountains. It is one of Morocco’s most famous natural sights: 300-metre walls stretching for a kilometre, a unique place and a climbers’ paradise. Hotel accommodation with dinner and breakfast.

Breakfast and departure for the Dades Gorges, with their ravines and canyons. On the way we pass Berber villages such as Kalaat M’Gouna and Skoura, in the heart of the palm valley. In the afternoon we follow the High Atlas mountain road to Marrakech. End of the trip.
