Trip plan

Day 1: Marrakech – Ouzoud Waterfalls – Zaouia Ahansal
Morning departure from Marrakech into the High Atlas towards the marvellous Ouzoud Waterfalls, a wonderful place with impressive natural waterfalls where we can have lunch. Then we continue to the fantastic village of Zaouia Ahansal, visiting Berber mountain buildings. Accommodation with dinner and breakfast.
Day 2: Zaouia Ahansal – Lakes of Imilchil – Imilchil
After breakfast we leave for the Lakes of Imilchil, two wonderful and incredible lakes in the middle of the high mountains… We reach Imilchil, a beautiful village over 1,800 metres high, where we stay overnight. Accommodation with dinner and breakfast.
Day 3: Imilchil – Amellago Gorges – Merzouga, Erg Chebbi desert
After breakfast we leave for the Amellago Gorges, a fantastic mountain landscape well worth photographing, with stops for photos and lunch. We reach the beautiful orange dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga in the afternoon and ride the dromedaries slowly to admire the sunset and spend the night in the heart of the dunes. Drums, stars… Accommodation in haimas with dinner and breakfast.
Day 4: Merzouga desert – Khamlia – Ouzina desert
After watching the sunrise and having breakfast, we ride the dromedaries back for a shower. Then we visit the village of Khamlia, a Black Berber community originally from Mali and Sudan, and stop to discover their culture through their music and dances called Gnawa. We follow the famous Paris–Dakar track to the village of Ouzina and its guesthouse, offering a quiet, relaxing stay and a well-deserved rest in the middle of the desert. Accommodation with dinner and breakfast.
Day 5: Ouzina – Taouz – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra – Dades Gorges
After breakfast we continue towards Boumalne Dades (Dades Gorges). We pass Taouz and reach Rissani, capital of the Tafilalet region, where we stroll through the animal market and the souk. We stop in Erfoud to visit a fossil quarry and see how fossils are turned into true works of art — tables, washbasins and other remarkable pieces. We continue to the Todra Gorges, a unique place and climbers’ paradise with 300-metre vertical walls, and after the visit carry on to the Dades for the night. Accommodation with dinner and breakfast.
Day 6: Dades – Ouarzazate – Valley of Roses – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
After breakfast we head to Ouarzazate, the city of cinema, crossing the Valley of Roses, famous for its Damask rose and its cosmetic products. Visit of the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a magical place where many films have been shot, such as Gladiator and Asterix & Obelix. After lunch we cross the High Atlas at 2,260 m and arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon.
