Trip plan
Day 1: Casablanca
Arrival at Casablanca airport and transfer to the hotel. Hotel accommodation with breakfast.
Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fes
Visit of the majestic Hassan II Mosque. We continue to Rabat to visit its monuments: the Kasbah of the Udayas, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Hassan Tower. Then on to Meknes, a city that reached its peak under Sultan Moulay Ismail. 27 km from Meknes lie the ruins of the Roman city of Volubilis, and we also visit the holy town of Moulay Idriss. Arrival in Fes. Riad accommodation with breakfast.
Day 3: Fes – Merzouga
After breakfast we head to Ifrane, known as the little African Switzerland. We continue towards Midelt, stopping in the famous cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, home to one of the last communities of Barbary macaques, a species found only here and in Gibraltar. We drive through the impressive Ziz Valley, with limestone gorges lined with tall date palms and mud-brick houses. In the afternoon we continue to Merzouga and the great Erg Chebbi, where dromedaries take us into the heart of the desert to spend the night in a haima. Accommodation with dinner and breakfast.
Day 4: Merzouga desert – Ouzina desert
After watching the sunrise we ride the dromedaries back to the hotel for a shower and continue towards Ouzina along the famous Paris–Dakar Rally track. On the way we pass several Berber villages and share tea with the locals, discovering their culture and customs. We reach Ouzina in the afternoon. Accommodation with dinner and breakfast.
Day 5: Ouzina
Breakfast and a relaxed day. We can explore the surroundings of Ouzina by 4x4 and enjoy its tracks… Lunch of a delicious Berber pizza, the chance to get Berber henna designs and to enjoy a good tea. In the afternoon, rest or discover the village and its surroundings and meet the locals. Accommodation with dinner and breakfast.
Day 6: Ouzina – Rissani – Dades Gorges
After breakfast we continue towards Boumalne Dades (Dades Gorges). We reach Rissani, capital of the Tafilalet region, and stroll through its animal market and souk. We follow the Ziz Valley to Erfoud to visit a fossil quarry and see how fossils are turned into true works of art — tables, washbasins and other remarkable pieces. We continue to the Dades Gorges, where we spend the night. Accommodation with dinner and breakfast.
Day 7: Dades Gorges – Marrakech
In the morning we set off for the famous Dades Gorges. Along the way we see landscapes of rare beauty, a string of green oases fed by the Dades river. Little by little the valley narrows into dense limestone blocks with dizzying walls — “the Dades Gorges”, a feast for the eyes. We continue by road and, after about 12 km, take a track past Mount M’Goun, the Valley of Roses and the Skoura palm grove with its kasbahs. Arrival in Marrakech in the afternoon. Riad accommodation with breakfast.
Day 8: Marrakech
Visit of the red city, full of places of unrivalled architectural and cultural value, including the famous, exotic and frenetic Jemaa el-Fna square at the entrance of the medina, recognised by UNESCO as cultural heritage. Riad accommodation with breakfast.
Day 9: Marrakech – Airport
Transfer to the airport at the agreed time and end of our services.
