Trip plan
Day 1: Fes – Errachidia – Merzouga
After breakfast we pick you up at your hotel for a beautiful road stage. We visit the ancient cedar forests, where you can see and feed the Barbary macaques, and pass the Ziz Gorges with incredible views of the palm grove before reaching the dunes. In the afternoon we enter the orange dunes of Merzouga, Erg Chebbi. An intense day crossing all kinds of landscapes: plateaus, high mountains, deserts and valleys… If you wish, a camel ride to watch the sunset over the dunes. Hotel accommodation with dinner and breakfast.
Day 2: Merzouga – Taouz – Ouzina
After breakfast we leave for Ouzina along the famous Paris–Dakar Rally track. On the way we pass several Berber villages and share tea with the locals, discovering their culture and customs. In the afternoon we reach Ouzina for a pleasant, quiet stay and a well-deserved rest. Hotel accommodation with dinner and breakfast.
Day 3: Ouzina – Ramlia – Lake Maider – Zagora
After breakfast we continue along the Paris–Dakar track towards Zagora, passing several Berber villages with mud-brick houses. In the afternoon we reach Zagora, known for its date production. Accommodation with dinner and breakfast.
After breakfast we visit the pottery workshops of Tamegroute and its famous ancient library, then continue to M’Hamid for lunch and a rest. A sandy track then takes us to the Erg Chegaga dunes, where we spend the night in a haima. Accommodation with dinner and breakfast.
Day 5: Erg Chegaga – Lake Iriqui – Foum Zguid – Tata
In the morning we enjoy the dunes before continuing towards Lake Iriqui, which we cross before taking the main track again to Foum Zguid for lunch and a rest. After lunch we continue by road through wonderful landscapes to Tata. Hotel accommodation with dinner and breakfast.
Day 6: Tata – Tagazoute – Tafraoute
After breakfast our adventure continues by road to the village of Tagazoute, where we turn onto a mountain track through tree-filled valleys, with panoramic stops, to the Tagazoute gorges and finally Tafraoute. Accommodation with dinner and breakfast.
Day 7: Tafraoute – Tiznit – Mirleft – Legzira
After breakfast we drive through the Atlas to Tiznit, then along the coast to enjoy Berber villages and their magnificent beaches — yet another completely different landscape. Night in a guesthouse facing the sea: a very special night on the magnificent Atlantic coast. Guesthouse accommodation with dinner and breakfast.
Day 8: Legzira – Agadir
After breakfast we follow the coast, enjoying the beautiful wild beaches of the Atlantic, and reach Agadir in the afternoon. Hotel accommodation in Agadir with dinner and breakfast.
Day 9: Agadir – Essaouira
We leave Agadir and continue along the coast, stopping for photos and a quiet tea. We pass Taghazout, Imsouane and Sidi Kaouki and reach Essaouira for lunch and a rest. In the afternoon, enjoy the beach and recharge. Riad accommodation with dinner and breakfast.
Day 10: Essaouira – Marrakech
After breakfast we wander through the medina of Essaouira, enjoying its souks and its fish. We continue by road to Marrakech, stopping at a women’s cooperative that shows how “Morocco’s liquid gold”, argan oil, is made. We reach this magical city in the afternoon and visit the famous Jemaa el-Fna square and its wonderful medina. Riad accommodation with breakfast.
