Day Trip to Sefrou, Bhalil, Ifrane and Azrou

On this trip we visit Sefrou and its waterfalls, Bhalil and its caves, Ifrane and its European feel and Azrou and its cedar forest, home to the monkeys.

After picking you up at your hotel or riad at 9:00, we set off for Sefrou, a small town 30 kilometres south-east of Fes. Its highlights are the waterfalls and a short walk through its medina, divided by a river.

Leaving Sefrou behind, we reach Bhalil, a lovely mountain village famous for its houses built into caves. We can go into a local home for a mint tea.

The next stop is Ifrane, one of Morocco’s most curious towns for its architecture and European atmosphere. Ifrane is home to one of the country’s best-known universities and is the favourite destination of well-off Moroccans.

To end the day we visit the cedar forest, famous for the Gouraud Cedar, the largest ancient cedar in the region. Hundreds of Barbary macaques live in this forest, and you can feed them if you like.

We return to Fes and drop you at your hotel (or wherever you like) between 18:00 and 19:00.

Changes to the itinerary

As our tours are private, the itinerary can easily be adapted to suit you. For example, if you are not particularly interested in Sefrou, you can spend more time at the lakes we pass on the way.
