Day Trip to Volubilis, Moulay Idriss and Meknes

On this tour you will discover three of Morocco’s most surprising places: Volubilis, Moulay Idriss and Meknes. It is an essential tour for anyone visiting Fes.

After picking you up at your hotel or riad at 9:00, we head west to the ancient Roman city with the most important archaeological remains in Morocco.

In Volubilis you will have free time to explore the site. We stay as long as you need; usually between 1 and 2 hours. If you wish, you can hire an official guide at the entrance.

After enjoying the impressive Roman ruins, we drive to Moulay Idriss, one of the most important pilgrimage centres in Morocco. It is a small town where you can see the highlights of the medina in less than an hour.

The third stop is Meknes, the most “modest” of Morocco’s four imperial cities. In Meknes you will have free time for lunch and to visit the city’s main sights, wander through its souk or enjoy a coffee on the square.

Around 18:00 we head back to Fes and drop you at your hotel or wherever you like.

Changes to the itinerary

As our tours are private, the itinerary can easily be adapted to suit you. For example, if you are not particularly interested in Moulay Idriss, you can spend more time in Meknes, a much more interesting place.
